| Riverwood Inn and Conference Center's 52-acre property, the former Minnesota Business Person of the Year has resumed her leadership role and invested $2.5 million to refine Riverwood and its amenities.

DeCandia chose to partner with Cowette Seward Associates and Amcon
Construction to help make her vision of a more refined, inviting Riverwood Resort come to life. Interior and exterior enhancements give the property a rustic, warm environment perfect for executive meetings and weddings as well as bed-and-breakfast overnights and weekend golf getaways. "We cater to a wide variety of clientele." explained DeCandia. "From CEOs and professional meeting planners to mothers of the bride and honeymooners, Riverwood strives to create an atmosphere to service varying requests and requirements."
DeCandia founded Riverwood in 1978 with one conference room and a dining facility. She developed the property to include 62 guest rooms, dining for 250, 12 meeting rooms, indoor and outdoor recreation and 52-acres of riverside trails, parks and beautifully landscaped grounds. Timothy's Restaurant is open year round to the public, and popular getaway packages draw visitor's from the region.

Winner of numerous small business awards, DeCandia has been recognized as the Small Business Association's Minnesota Business Person of the Year in 1993. She won the Blue Chip Initiative Award in 1994, as well as the Minnesota Woman Business Owner of the Year in 1992.
